These soft beads are popular as shock absorbers on fishing tackle to protect knots when using sliding sinkers, booms, bombards and floats etc. Luminous beads are mainly used on fishing tackle and hooks to attract fish. The larger black sizes are used often directly on the braided line above the peg when sea fishing to prevent bait from catching or playing with the top loop when reeling in. Can also be used for a jig.
